It’s been a while since the last blog post, it’s about time to update what all has been going on and the current states/statuses of the servers, website, and life in general.
Minecraft Servers
For starters, lets talk about the servers. Currently only the Lobby server and the Survival server are running. Some updates have been made to both, mainly due to the updates to 1.20.4, but they are generally the same otherwise. The private modpack is no longer up, and I’ve stopped working on getting All The Mods 9 working under Docker. Frankly, the lack of interest in the MC servers as a whole has my motivation down with it. So as of right now, I don’t plan on adding anything beyond the Survival server for now. I will keep that up though.
Physical Server Updates
While the All In One server served me well, it was more hassle that it was worth. I decided to break it down for parts in future things, so the Survival server is now on the Desktop server. Speaking of desktop servers though, I had planned to put new parts into the case of the old DesktopServer2, however, I accidentally dropped that case and broke it. It already had been stripped for parts before, but still, means I do not have it anymore. So as of now, i only have the LaptopServer and DesktopServer.
Other Server Ventures
So Docker knowledge has gave me the ability to do a bit more with the servers as a whole. While I have not done much on the MC side of things besides auto-restarts, I have expanded website stuff. More specifically, I have started self-hosting some website frontends for Youtube and Imgur, along with owning my own ArchiveBox instance for personal use. I do need to update many pages in the blog, however, and have yet to work on the pages for PMD:WE, or the mirrors for art I commission. I’ve messed with SyncThing some too.
Life
I’ll admit, I’ve been extra stressed over the last few months. Even ignoring major world events and news like the oncoming threat of World War 3, the onslaught of hate and misinformation on trans people, the disappointing trend of American politics, ect, I have had a bumpy few months. Some big snags include money being very much in an unhealthy state after the holiday, continued tension internally with family leaving me torn up, and overall feeling like I never will be able to transition. I genuinely feel the desire to just hide away at home and cut off everyone.
Not everything is bad though. I’ve been slowly switching to Linux as my main computer rather than Windows, which while not perfect, has gone well. Unfortunately, I’m not fully off Windows just yet. I did replace the house locks and the bathroom doorknob, which felt good. Not to mention experimentation with Archipelago, a software for randomizing multiple videogames, even allowing players to find items in their game thats for another players game. It’s fun. Also have some fun things like a modded GBA now, also fun.
That’s all for now.
