Yapsfox, AI bro.

Hi guys. I’m not happy.

So earlier today on BlueSky, I made a quote repost of a post by @yapsfox.bsky.social.

Perhaps a bit uncharitable from me to say this, but I don't believe that you didnt know it was AI.You only put the display name for the account as credit when you usually link to artists. You also made a follow up quote explaining that a friend sent it to you when noone was asking where you (1/3)

got it from. The fact that you are sitting here, willing to hold onto the piece because of its superficial looks when there are other, not AI made arcanine tfs out there that are better and asking if you should use it as a reference implies that you dont see anything wrong with the AI use other(2/3)

than the lack of a tag. Do not bring this trash with you. Throw it in the garbage bin. Dont try to encourage keeping and using it. (3/3)

I do think it’s probably good to take a step to explain where this mean post of mine comes from, and especially to archive this in case Yap deletes everything.

So on February 25th, 2026 at 8:51 PM (all times will be US EST timezone), Yapsfox posted an Arcanine human-to-Pokemon transformation image to their BSky, crediting an “artist” named GanSigong.

Here is the full image.

A few minutes later at 8:53 PM, Yapsfox makes a follow-up quote post explaining that an unnamed friend shared the art with them, and links the original “artist” on Twitter.

The first few people to point to the image being AI comes from a few comments and quote posts on both posts around an hour or two later, as the original BlueSky post begins to gain traction. Yaps’ final post on the matter (as of my writing of this blog) happens at 11:59 PM, stating that they did not know it was AI.

My post was the next day at around 3 PM.

Now that we have the basic facts down, let’s actuallu go back and analyze the image. It’s pretty noticably AI if you take the time to look at it beyond a glance. The pre-tf waist-up shot has the tail seeming to protrude out from his back. The headshots seem to not be in a coherent order, showing what would be a mid-tf shot last. Likewise, the headshots aare barely different from each other, with the only real signs of tf being the human brown hair in the first and third one. There’s two fullbody shots that are both post-tf, with no change between them in anything besides pose and expression. The hind legs in these shots do not work for a normal Arcanine, implying it can stand, yet the rest of his body shows no physical anthropomorphization, making the fact he could maybe stand up not logically sound at all. I could go on if i wanted to. This barely can count as a tf, the transformation outside of the hair and the tail is implied at best. The fact that the og BSky post has over 1,300 likes last time i looked is honestly disheartening and makes me wanna crash out harder at the passive audience who likes before they look.

These are all things that are *logically* inconsistent. AI mistakes when it comes to images tend to be logic ones, rather than being technical ones that artists make such as messy lines or wonky perspectives. Usually some grain of salt *can* be put onto accusations like this, since sometimes inconsistent art is made by an artist. However, thats where the second post by Yaps comes in. Yaps links to GanSigong’s twitter post of this image.

While Yaps’ BSky post only links the original image post, even a glance at Gan’s bio shows AI as part of their thing. Likewise, Yaps did not link the “artist” in the original post. In other posts, Yaps does properly link to artists. This feels like an odd case. It can be interpreted as them making a mistake, hence why they followed upwith a quote, or this could be seen as them obfuscating the source so people don’t see that it’s AI.

My personal perception is more toward the latter, as their second post crediting Gan has a statement asking for the audience not to judge them. Now, as a fan of Transformation, I can understand having some fear at expressing that enjoyment of TF publically. I should also note, however, that Yaps is a pretty prolific reposter of TF artworks, and does not seem to have expressed this worry elsewhere. So, in my mind, this reads as Yaps asking the audience not to judge them for the AI. That could be just me being a bit more bad faith in my interpretation, please do re-read their post yourself and come to your own conclusion on that.

Moving on, I was a bit miffed reading that third post where Yaps acknowledges that the image was AI. Let’s go over that again. Yaps apologizes… For not tagging it. You know. They don’t seem to see anything wrong with the AI image being posted, shared, or made. Just that it wasn’t tagged as AI. They also explicitly state that they want to use the image as “inspiration”, calling it adorable. They don’t seem to see past the superficially passable technically ok parts of the image, or maybe they are too enraptured to the idea of an Arcanine TF to look at it in any critical way. Hey Yaps, you draw. Draw it yourself, don’t try to reference an AI’s work, it WILL be wrong with details and incoherent. To put my thoughts on this post in a meaner way, here’s something I said in a discord server I’m in.

This lacking in seeing anything inheretly wrong with the image is extra reasoning for me to believe they knew it was AI, and are only admitting so now that they are under pressure. It might be a bit of an uncharitable assertion from me, but I do believe that to be the case. YapsFox, delete this image and gain some moral backbone.
